Global Battery Storage Additions for 2025 Split Between 106 GW and 112 GW Across Trackers
IEA-sourced figures put 2025 global battery/energy storage capacity additions at a record 108 GW, roughly 40% above 2024. Wood Mackenzie's independent tally lands close behind at 106 GW (+43%), while BloombergNEF reports a higher 112 GW / 307 GWh (+48%) after excluding pumped hydro. InfoLink Consulting measures the year differently in GWh terms -- 275.3 GWh, a steeper 61.3% year-over-year increase -- diverging from the other trackers on both scale and growth-rate framing. All four agree 2025 was a record year; they disagree on by how much and on which metric best captures it.
