Global Humanoid Robot Shipments for 2025 Split Between 16,000 and 18,000 Units
Humanoid robots moved from demo units to commercial shipments in 2025, but there is no single agreed count of how many left factories. IDC and Bank of America Global Research both put the global total at roughly 18,000 units. Counterpoint Research, Omdia, and Yano Research Institute each independently put it at 16,000-16,580 units -- about 2,000 units, or 11%, lower. All trackers agree China supplied the large majority of shipments.
Findings
- IDC's January 2026 report puts full-year 2025 global humanoid robot shipments at approximately 18,000 units, up roughly 508% year-over-year, with AgiBot the leading vendor at about 5,200 units shipped.
- Bank of America Global Research forecast the same 18,000-unit figure for 2025 in an April 2025 report -- published before the year closed, yet it lines up with IDC's post-year count.
- Counterpoint Research, Omdia, and Yano Research Institute each independently put 2025 global shipments at 16,000-16,580 units, roughly 2,000 units (about 11%) below the IDC/Bank of America figure, with no published reconciliation between the two clusters.
- Every tracker in this comparison agrees China supplied the large majority of 2025 humanoid robot shipments -- estimates for its share range from about 80% to over 90% -- even where they disagree on the global total itself.
