Global Humanoid Robot Shipments Surged in 2025 -- Trackers Split From 13,300 to Over 20,000 Units

Global humanoid robot production went from a niche curiosity to a multi-thousand-unit industry in 2025, and three independent market trackers -- Omdia, IDC, and Interact Analysis -- all confirm growth of roughly 5x to 10x year-over-year, with Chinese manufacturers accounting for the large majority of units. But their full-year 2025 shipment totals disagree substantially: Omdia counted 13,318 units, IDC reported about 18,000, and Interact Analysis put the figure above 20,000 -- a spread of more than 50% on a metric that will anchor next year's growth-rate comparisons and investment cases.

Findings

  • Omdia found that global humanoid robot shipments jumped about 480% year-over-year in 2025 to 13,318 units.
  • IDC's humanoid robotics report, released January 23, 2026, put 2025 global shipments at roughly 18,000 units (+508% YoY) and total market revenue near $440 million.
  • Interact Analysis found global humanoid robot production exceeded 20,000 units in 2025, a tenfold jump from fewer than 2,000 units in 2024 -- but noted only about 10% of units produced were deployed in real-world applications rather than research, data collection, or entertainment use.
  • All three trackers agree China dominated 2025 production -- Interact Analysis put Chinese vendors' unit share above 90%, with AgiBot and Unitree each shipping roughly 5,000+ units -- and all describe several-hundred-percent year-over-year growth, but their full-year global totals disagree by more than 6,600 units, a gap likely driven by differing definitions of what counts as a humanoid shipment.
